    Description

    Beautiful hand colored antique print of Globi Coelestis in Tabulas Planas Redacti Pars V, an allegorical celestial map featuring the positions of the stars on the map based on observations from circa 1730. This map was in Atlas Coelestis, a collaboration between Johann Gabriel Doppelmayr (1677-1750), an astronomer, cartographer, and a professor of mathematics from Nuremberg and Johann Baptist Homann (1664-1724), a renowned German mapmaker of the late 17th and early 18th century. Mounted in a vintage black and gold painted wood frame (surface wear).
    Frame size is ~24" x 27"; plexiglass.
