    Description

16" diameter, 7" center hub, 16 ply of cloth, yellow mill treated 86x80 100% cotton cloth; class 2; 1.25" arbor airway buffing wheel.
VM Industries utilizes an exclusive automated process, which enables us to produce a superior product at an affordable price.
“Airway” buffing wheels provide superior performance and longevity due to their biased cloth construction.  Bias cloth is cut at an angle which enables every thread to approach the working surface at a 45 degree angle therefore the threads will not unravel or “fray”.  The pleating of the material and the metal center hub provide "airways" to allow the buffing process to run much cooler.  Our airway buffs are available in various cloth treatments and sizes.  Please see our other listings for different sizes or cloth types to suit your buffing needs.
Mill Treating is a process that is given to the natural/raw cotton cloth to give the cloth an added amount of firmness (or stiffness). This adds longer life to the buff (better value) and allows the cloth to be more “aggressive” and durable during the buffing process. There are varying degrees of cloth treatments that are identified by the different colors of VM Industries's buffs. There are different buff cloth colors which serves to identify the firmness of the cloth treatment. These treatments provide a range of performance in terms of high luster "color" or material removal "cut".
Ranging from highest luster (color) to highest cut (material removal) we have:
Untreated "REG" (hi color, best for polishing)
White mill treat "WMT" (color, mild cut)
Yellow mill treat "YMT" (mild color, moderate cut)
Blue mill treat "BMT" (more aggressive cut)
Orange mill treat "OMT" (firmest buff, most aggressive cut)
