Boom Mat offers this heat and sound insulation floor and tunnel shield in a 21" x 24" sheet. Protect yourself from radiant heat from entering the driver compartment and also from road, tire, and engine noise. Boom Mat has constructed this shield from 10 mil aluminum bonded to a finely woven layer of high temperature resistant glass fiber. Perfect for firewalls, under-vehicle, floor pans, oil tank box areas, transmission tunnels, wrapping fuel cells and under hoods. Will also work great for any application you can think of because it can adhere to almost any surface including fiberglass.

Summary:
Put a tremec tko 600 transmission in a 1967 corvette. Not much room above transmission for insulation. The boom mat worked perfect. Easy to cut and form and install in the space I had to work with. Would definitely recommend this product.Acts as a noise and heat shield both.

Summary:
I used this product on my C5 corvette above the transmission where heat can be an issue. I was concerned about resistance to flame since Corvettes don't fair very well around fire. I needed an insulation that I could use externally and this seemed to meet the requirement.

Summary:
I used this to insulate the underside of the hood on my 2009 Mini Cooper S from the intense heat generated by the turbo charger. The heat would penitrate the hood, thus warping the hood scoop. After replacing several hood scoops and finding the factory heat shielding wasn't able to stop the heat penitration I purchased this DEi 50507 floor and tunnel shielding. This is a fantastic product! It is easily cut and shaped. It molds to almost any contour. The adhesive backing made this perfect for my application. I've had this on all summer with no further warpage problems. The hood is cool enough that I can place my hand on it. One thing I might mention, make sure you place it correctly the first time, the adhesive is very strong. Looks good under the hood and works great!

Return Policy
