Description
What a great find at last week's estate sales! A marvelous black and grey texture wool, originally purchased in 1982! (The dated sales receipt was in the bag with the wool.) And my photograph (over dark) cannot even begin to illustrate what a neat piece this is -- a sublte herringbone-like weave, just a bit of texture, and a dreamy soft hand. What a dreamy background for a primitive rug!At least 54 x 17 inches. A little heavier than shirting wool, it weighs about 4 ounces. For its age, it is in excellent condition -- no holes or tears. As with most vintage wool from estates, I did launder this fabric -- but it's not felted much yet. A burn test indicates it is 100% wool. I will note that it did not tear easily, so when you strip it for hooking, you might want to start at the selvages to get the straight grain.
Nelda's Fine Print: You are buying as I do: As Is, Where Found. While I'll let you know the difference between new wool I have dyed versus secondhand finds from estates, please remember that with most of my listings for vintage or antique items you may detect the delectable aroma of 'old.'
I store my own hooking stash with cinnamon and cloves, so you might detect a spicy aroma, too. Depending on the estate find, I may or may not wash wool before listing.
If I have done so, I'll note that in the description. I cannot guarantee that the secondhand items I list come from smoke or pet free homes.
Color photographs may render differently on our various computer monitors; keep that in mind as you view listings for wool and yarn.

Returns are accepted only if I misrepresent the item in its description, and only if the item is returned in the condition I describe in the listing. At this time, US sales only.
My goal is to make Hookers happy, and for you to experience as much joy in the craft as I do. So please email with questions.
I'd rather spend time answering questions than for you to experience buyer's remorse in any form (not an acceptable reason for a return) or for either of us to go through the hassles of returning items and issuing refunds through PayPal.
