Description
A great example of Victorian sterling silver in a tiny object such as this sterling silver tea ball/infuser. It is not identified with silversmith marks only that it is sterling and #3538. Perhaps this number would give some indication as to the producer. I strongly believe this to be from the Victorian era most likely the late 1800s. It is an oval spherical shape with protruding longitudinal ribs. The ball measures approximately 1 3/4” end to end and the chain measures 5 1/2” long including the ring. The ball closes tightly and shows no signs of any damage or repairs. I have not polished this sterling silver item. A very nice example for any tea ball collection. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
Thank you.
